Aug 9, 2007 · HP wise a sickle bar doesn't take much. A 9' bar probably wouldn't take more than 10 or 12 hp to run. They just don't take much. You're more than covered as far as horsepower. You aren't talking a great deal of weight in the cutter bar either. Your tractor would handle that part. The 350 and 450 movers are a darned good cutting mower, but the wobble box is a weak point, and often fails badly to the tune of lots of $$$$$$.
