For Gunlance it is super satisfying to just watch explosions go off. Especially with multiple GL on your team. Once you know how to work all 3 shell types, it is a swiss army knife. Gunlance has more depth to it with all 3 shelling types, so there's more build variety. Both weapons have advanced tech like pivot hopping which gives them added depth.
