As far as just overall great Solo specs go... scourge, condi willbender, renegade, mechanist, condi weaver, mirage, condi soulbeast, condi untamed are all excellent. There's more too but those are off the top of my head.

If you get an aura at least every 10 seconds, the buff refreshes and gives you up to +10% damage and +10% condition damage. Since you get a free aura every 10 seconds through a combo and another just for switching to fire and potentially 2 more through water4 and earth4 its easy to passively upkeep and stack the buff.You also want to trait fire - earth or fire - arcane (or fire - water but i would suggest that mostly on catalyst). Personally i currently find catalyst to be really comfortable and strong at soloing because of high dps, good sustain (damage reduction from earth 3 orb) and boons (might, quickness, protection). 2.Ya reaper is fairly simple. Has allot of burst and control effects, dps is in the middle of the pack. But the self sustain makes a great spec for newer people. Druid is the best at providing 10man buffs, but it has the lowest raw healing among all healing builds - even below meme builds like shout warrior or heal chrono.

Good sustain due to water/light fields combos, CC and health regen from heat therapy. And good damage too. A little bit lacking in terms of ranged options while in Photon mode though. Still, it's a very fun class to play as in solo. And it's very good in groups too, since you can share boons, healing and condi cleanse with other players easily.

Revenant, specifically vindicator, good heals good damage, tons of dodge, and battle scars gives good sustain, plus solid CC.
