I wouldn't risk dismissing or even asking Serana to wait especially if your on a console while still doing the questline she has to many bugs that could cause her not follow you again or just vanish. All followers should take home to be completely safe but Serana just shouldn't be left alone at all.If you pick the wrong dialogue options, you’re screwed out of the option to cure her forever. But if you say the right things, the option will stay open. So yeah she can’t be cured during the quest line, but if you say the wrong things during it that’s no bueno.
