I would lay out a perfect Perimeter of fence foundations, make sure you account for your gates, towers and leave space inside for whatever you plan to build and keep. Make it bigger than you think or try to at least stay as symmetrical with your gaps for gates as possible. It takes a gap of 2 squares for beheomth and 1 for normal dino gates.

Exactly twice the size of a dino gate would probably be about right: 4 foundations wide, and 8 walls tall. Spinos also don't fit through regular dino gates, and adobe dino gates are weird and have even more things that don't fit through.
