Alot of people who are against the bulk-buy blood runes option seem to be under the impression that ironmen are currently runecrafting all their runes. Death runes and later blood runes are almost all bought from shops, almost everyone ends up doing this. Barrows and slayer/pvm should sustain you enough chaos to get onyx's, not much other real use for chaos once you upgrade to barraging not bursting tasks.
