Dnd 5e steady aim.

According to Dan Dillon (game designer for D&D 5e), having advantage on the attack to offset the disadvantage still qualifies for a Sneak Attack. You just roll 1d20 normally. (Keep in mind, this situation is assuming that your target has an enemy within 5 feet of them! That is what is enabling you to still get your Sneak Attack on them.)

You don't have to spend an action summoning your mage hand, or spend bonus actions to get it within 5 feet of your target. Both require your bonus action, and Steady Aim isn't limited by the 30 foot range of your mage hand. The only downside of Steady Aim is the lack of movement, which isn't much of an issue for a ranged rogue. As a rogue your bonus action is often spoken for. Probably the Aimer's Insight (Wisdom) against the target's Deception (Charisma). Combining the relevant parts of these two methods of gaining advantage, I've come to this result: Aim. You take a moment to study a creature, taking care to line up your next attack. I cannot think of a creative way to make Primeval Awareness, as written, on par with Expertise, Deflect Missiles, disease immunity, Steady Aim, or Metamagic. I generally like your homebrewing, and I think that the RAW could be improved without it getting overpowered simply by: making it a ritual (and saving the slot, but adding time)

Rogue damage is steady. The two chances to land sneak attack, when sneak is the bulk of their damage, is where the class gets it's power from. Some DMs don't allow stealth to work like it's supposed to for ranged attacks. Not all ranged rogues are sneaky. This offers another solution to get that necessary advantage.

To get a melee sneak attack, another creature must be threatening it... in which case they wouldn't move to attack you eating both an OpAttack and the Booming-Blade, they'd just attack the creature within 5ft. You cannot use Steady Aim as that's mutually exclusive with movement. \$\endgroup\$ –5e: Throwing-Weapon Ranger. Heya folks, I've been pondering a built idea that I may utilise in the future. Jan 26, 2021 · I think the principle effect of the Tasha's Steady Aim rule is to eliminate the need for lots of arguments between Rogue and DM about whether the Rogue is hidden or can hide in a particular situation. It also evens the field a bit between Rogues playing at tables using a flanking advantage rule and Rogues not doing so. It’s not overpowered. It’s pretty good, for sure. But it’s way less OP than a Twilight or Peace Cleric, or a Bladesinger, for example. If your DM wants to ban it and Chronurgist, though, I get it, they’re very strange subclasses that - the Echo Knight especially - invite a lot of ill-informed rules lawyering.I've played a Rogue character in a few campaigns. Steady Aim is amazing. I know there is definitely a downside since you can't hide or take other bonus actions, but Stead Aim was allowed in our first Post-Tashas game last week and I loved it.
