Jan 24, 2011 · Same problem here: 2007 Tundra VSC OFF, 4HI flashing. To cut to the chase, I opened up the center 4wd actuator top black plastic cover (5 screws) and found rust and other corrosion. Cleaned up the corrosion, sprayed everything down including connectors with electric connector cleaner spray and bingo it all worked.

Yes, I finally got to it and fix it. It was the 4wd actuator switch on the transfer case. Toyota want almost $1000 for that part alone and you'll still have to open the transfer case up to pull the actuator off. Instead I went a bought an used whole transfer case for $600 and put it on. 2uprup · #12 · Dec 19, 2008. You usually need to be going about 5 miles an hour before you hit the 4HI button. Once it engages, the light will stop blinking. Then you can stop put the truck in neutral and then puch the 4LO button. The truck will not go into 4LO without first being in 4HI.
