I haven't had any trouble with mine. Use a half-inch drive, 18mm socket to drain a bit and release vacuum and then a 36mm for the housing. Comes off easily, especially using a half inch drive ratchet. The resistance lets you know you have a good seal. Good to know that there is an AL replacement out there though.
