There is no real reputation mechanic atm. It is a bit of a nothing system. The most it changes is to Notorious if you go around being a dick to everyone and pick the "bad guy" type answers a lot in the random events. It apparently can influence whether you get contracts to pillage farmland and do sorta "banditry" type contracts but that's about it.
