The DLCs are just cosmetics with a nationality flare, except for Siptah which is a map (but not the official map so it wont be updated beyond base game mechanics). The PVE in Conan is the best. Official servers (or find a well trusted private one) if you like playing with strangers or co-op if you guys want to play privately.

Purges are a joke if you have at least 1 good thrall with epic heavy armor and a good 2h sword. The easiest good thrall to get is probably the cimmerian berserker in mounds of the dead (100% spawn). You can also farm a full set of epic heavy armor from mounds of the dead.
