Luckily level 2 thaumaturge feats are not too exciting. As for combat the goal is to be mid/backline with a hand crossbow meaning the level 1 feat to reload is a must. Thaumaturges are pretty much locked into wielding a single 1-handed weapon and going either Cha/Str or Cha/Dex (Str > Dex imo) so a Human/Gnome ancestry (Human > Gnome) for the Gnome Flickmace is unironically probably one of their best options.
