Yes you can and yes you need a lighter or matches to light them. There is a negative smoker trait in the creation that makes you addicted to cigarettes and giving you +4 Skillpoints. Unfortunately you can't overcome your addiction like other negative skills. You need cigarettes as long as you live. What this mod does is it adds different skills to weapon you use frequently. It does this twice. It gives your weapon a random Pre-fix after getting a certain number of kills. This can range to a minor increase in damage, or weight, or crit change, etc. Examples are Heavy, Nimble, Ravaged, Strong, Light, etc.Cigarettes are not rare. I always pick smoker with veteran. Cigarettes are only found in packs of 20. I have to actually drop cigarettes because I wasn't paying attention and ended up with 200 of them. They do have weight. Check bars and gas stations in addition to zombie corpses. My biggest challenge is keeping lighters and matches around, because those run out too.
