Remnants has its place and I don't think it needs a buff. You get a nice tech rush in the early game that can lead to early conquest/tech snowball, and in the mid game you get a guaranteed size 22 Ecumenopolis without needing to take the ascension perk.

Montu Plays did a video on best fleet builds TLDR; before repeatables, build the Kinetic Spinal Mount mega cannon or w/e it's called, with Neutron Launchers in the L slots. Build Hangar battleships as well, in a 3 to 10 ratio with artillery ones. For every 10 artillery ships, throw in 3 hangar ships for anti missile and anti corvette etc
