I didn't use a jack, it sits plenty high to change the fluids. The trans took almost 48 oz. of fluid to the bottom of the fill plug threads.

I just noticed engine oil capacity on the '17 Trail 900 and other Prostar RZRs has been increased to 3 qts from 2.5. It got me to wondering what, if any changes were made. I checked dipstick, dipstick tube, oil pan, oil cooler, cooler lines and the oil filter part numbers against the 2015-16 numbers. The only different number is the dipstick!I just bought a 2012 RZR 4 900 with 750 miles on it. It has a blown motor from no oil? How can a motor with 750 miles RUN OUT OF OIL??? Mar 21, 2021 · I meant to say 0w40 on last post. Polaris has changed in the last 2 years to 5w50. PS4 shears down almost instantly to a 40 weight oil not it's basically the same as 0w40. 0w40 is better for dry sump engines cause it's easier on cold starts and when warms up is the same weight as the 50w. My 12 holds 3.5 quarts. I would say where the sump isnt there anymore, theres no need for the extra oil to keep the sump full. That would be my guess. If it calls for 2.5 then use that and check it, if its at the full mark then you shouldnt have an issue. Wish i could be riding more :- (.
