Also when I shot it up in the air, the airdrop didnt drop where I wanted it to drop at the trench, instead it will choose somewhere that is flat. So from my initial shot of the flare, i say the airdrop was about 50-100 meters away from where I shot it. I dont think it could be proximity to the edge of the map.

I can't call airdrop in any way with one-use flare or flare gun. Nothing is going on after releasing flares. I tested this both in the PVE and without PVE. I ran over to the airdrop and couldn't loot it. It was in a secluded area away from all PMC extracts with 10 minutes left in raid. I alt f4'd and then I was able to loot it. Good thing too, was one of the best airdrops I've ever gotten lol.
